Echappe double podium at Phillipsburg CX Elite

Phillipsburg, NJ - Echappe finished with a win and third place at the Phillipsburg Riverfront Cyclocross Men's Elite race. Affiliate coach, Bill Elliston, rode Mavic Ksyrium SL glued to Dugast Rhino tubular tires and Echappe Partner Gabe Lloyd ride Echappe Classic CX Tubulars glued to Tufo Flexus rubber. Paired with Stephen Kincaid, the trio gapped the field early. Lloyd faltered in a technical section of the course, losing contact with the two pros, but maintained his own gap to finish third overall. Lloyd finished third overall in the 2007 NJBA Cyclocross Cup Standings - a respectable finish having not raced the first three events of the series.

Echappe Equipment had a respectable cyclocross season gaining three wins and being under half a dozen elite racers through out the CX season. Looking forward to the road and triathlon season, Echappe has high expectations for itself and its racers. Stay tuned!

Lloyd at Verge NECCS #5

Gabe Lloyd started the day well, but crashed early and never regained contact with the front third of the race he started with. Crashing again, including a ballet over the barriers minus the bike, ended Lloyd's day and any shot at finishing well. The Echappe Classic CX wheels held up well to the abuse of the day, even with a rear flat by the end of the day.

www.cyclingnews.com - the world centre of cycling

Gabe Lloyd raced the USGP Elite Men's UCI race this Saturday. The event complimented with many national champs, Tour de France riders and dozens of professional cyclists. Lloyd rode well, but falling early in the off camber section of the course and starting in the back made for a long day.

Cyclocross racer Aaron Oakes rode Echappe Classic Edition CX wheels in the same race on Saturday. Aaron had good legs and finished on the lead lap. Riding tubulars was a nice treat for Aaron and he'll be looking to ride them again at CX Nationals in December.
